Heat versus Cold

In this day and age when people exercise their right to vote and elect people to lead the government, a generation of consumers who have the liberty to select what they want to purchase and what not to buy, and even the simple pleasure of choosing what to drink in the morning – these are privileges that we often take for granted.

For CoolSculpt, it uses a machine with a cup-like device that pulls the fat out and delivers the cold treatment which results to freezing of fat cells. This process is called cryolipolysis. Once these cells are frozen, they die and over a span of two months, these cells are eliminated from the body. It usually lasts almost an hour and patients can go through repeat treatments if necessary.

On the other hand, truSculpt iD, not only heats the fat cells to destruction, but also adds skin tightening and textural improvements to the areas being treated. The skin tightening is a great secondary benefit from this treatment which is focused on those loose skin that are adverse result of pregnancy, weight fluctuations or even due to aging. It is like hitting two birds with just one stone – target the fat, tighten the skin.

In the process of reducing  unwanted fat, truSculpt iD uses a revolutionary Monopolar Radiofrequency (RF) platform tailored to patients’ individual needs. The machine heats up these fat cells that will then begin to shrink and will continue shrinking after the treatment. These cells are eventually eliminated by the body in a natural process.

Real-Time Temperature Control is also one of truSculpt iD’s genuine feature. With this, skin temperature is continuously monitored and energy delivery is automatically adjusted to reach and hold a therapeutic temperature of >45ºC in the fat, while maintaining a skin temperature of 3-4ºC cooler. It shows clinically proven results, ensures safety and most importantly, takes into consideration patient’s tolerability towards the treatment.

Not like CoolSculpt that needs excess fat  that can be pinched in order to receive the treatment via the suction device, truSculpt iD uses personalized handpieces intended to cover all areas of the body that needs attention. It does not need to grab onto areas of skin and excess fat to start the treatment, an array of handpieces smoothly glides onto skin providing customized treatments whether its via a hands-free, hand-held or even a smaller handpiece.

There are three specialized handpieces. And the first of which is the hands-free 2 MHz 40 cm2 that is used for stationary use. With up to six 40 cm² hands-free handpieces placed simultaneously over multiple localized fat pockets, it can cover up to 300 cm² treatment area on the abdomen and flanks in just 15 minutes.

The second is the hand-held 2 MHz 40 cm2 targets over fat pockets contained within the small or medium treatment templates. It covers up to 144 cm² treatment area on the body in 15 minutes and is used in a gliding motion. It is tailored for areas large and small.

And lastly, the handpiece used with a stationary placement over soft tissue in areas that are smaller than the templates or anatomically difficult areas is the hand-held 1 MHz 16 cm.2 It covers 16 cm² petite treatment area in 5 minutes. With this tool, you have everything covered, sculpt even the most challenging areas.

Because truSculpt iD relies on a smaller, handheld device, it is well-suited to those who are thinner or want treatments for areas that a Coolsculpting machine may not be able to grab onto. For instance, areas like the shoulders or the underarms may be too difficult for the Coolsculpting suction to reach, but they can easily be treated with the TruSculpt hand-held and handsfree handpieces. And since these have smaller surface, it can reach even the smallest area of fat with success and can easily be used for spot treatments as well.  With this set of handpieces working together to cover multiple areas of the body and treating simultaneously, it sets a very high standard for patient and treatment versatility.
