Trusculpt or Coolsculpt: Which is best?

Increase food and liquid intake while reducing physical activity could result to unintentional weight gain. Reshaping your body takes a lot of time and effort with normal exercise and diet. Many people opted to invasive body fat treatments like liposuction in getting rid of their stubborn fat bulges but these treatments have many high risks. Luckily, non-invasive body contouring innovations have emerged today that helps in regaining lost body shape and self-esteem. Two of which are Trusculpt and Coolsculpt.

Trusculpt

Trusculpt is a non-surgical body reshaping treatment that uses monopolar radio frequency that permanently eliminates body fat in a specific area. This advance technology delivers heat to target fat tissues and fat cells. It doesn’t only treat the skin surface or the epidermis, but also the dermis or the middle skin layer, and the hypodermis or the deepest skin, even reaching the fat repositories beneath the skin layers.  Heating of the cells using radio frequency energy would result to the cells’ destruction or apoptosis (fat cells destruction) that leads to an abrupt reduction of fat pockets. The body then gets rid of the liquefied adipose naturally through sweat and other body wastes. Aside from melting fats away, it boosts collagen and elastin productivity making the skin look and feel ultimately firm and tight, leaving no trace of loose skin. A painless and fast process, taking only about 15 minutes per area. Areas that can be treated with Trusculpt includes chin, buttocks, and other stubborn body parts.

Coolsculpt

Coolsculpt is another non-invasive body contouring technique that applies cryolipolysis method, a method that also exterminates fat tissues through freezing thus breaking down fat cells while keeping the surrounding body cells untouched. The amount of coldness applied to the area is higher than the amount that could damage the skin, making it a safe treatment to the clients. Coolsculpt enhance areas that are difficult to target with exercise: back fats, double chin, flabby arms, bra fats, abdomen, and other “pinchable” body parts.

Expectations with Trusculpt and Coolsculpt Treatment

A Trusculpt hand piece will be placed on the desired area for treatment. Heat pulses are applied to the skin in a gliding motion. The hand piece covers six spots within 15 minutes, or 576 cm2 of the flanks and abdomen within an hour. During the treatment, a warm sensation (described as the feeling you get when having a hot stone massage) can be felt on the area being treated. To avoid discomfort, the licensed practitioner constantly adjusts the temperature making the client feel safe and comfortable during the whole period of the procedure. No medication, anesthetics or topical creams and cooling agents needed during the treatment.
Coolsculpt treatment is best for “pinchable” areas referring to body parts with fat bulges because it uses a specialized coolsculpting applicator that pulls out the fats from the area and places it into another cup-like device. The more “pinchable” the area is, the more efficient and effective the treatment will be. Different coolsculpting applicators are designed and used to each specific body part. Prior to the treatment, a gel will be placed on the area. For the first minutes or so, a slight discomfort may be felt. As described, it may feel like tugging or pulling, slight stinging, cramping, or intense cold, just like an ice placed on the skin. Eventually, the discomfort goes away as the skin feels numb. About 35minutes to 1 hour is the estimated average time per treatment area, depending on the area being treated.

Trusculpt and Coolsculpt Compared

Distiguishing the best among these two treatments could be plain sailing because they have significant differences from effectivity, duration of the treatment per session, the result itself to the cost of each procedure. Both treatments are non-surgical, hence making these two treatments safe from anesthetic risks and complications that other invasive treatments have as side effects. Invasive treatment like liposuction, another body fat removal procedure that aggressively “sucks” out adipose cells from the body through the use of a high-power vacuum, usually makes use of general anesthesia pre-treatment and other medications post-treatment which could result to many health complications. Trusculpt and Coolsculpt apply opposite mechanisms in treating specific areas, the former eliminates fat by heating the cells and the latter, by freezing it. Both are effective in doing their job, but Trusculpt shows very promising result in one single treatment only, about an average of 24%. The same result could be achieved by Coolsculpt, but longer. One other distinction of Trusculpt from Coolsculpt is the area of coverage per session. Trusculpt uses a smaller device than Coolsculpt, allowing Trusculpt treat other areas simultaneously. With that, coolsculpt limits the treatment area to one per session, requiring the clients to have more treatments to cover all of the desired areas for enhancement.

Both way of body fat reduction process kills fat tissues and breaks down fat cells that can be easily excreted from the body naturally by metabolic processes, therefore consequently gives a permanent result. The two can also treat hard-to-reach areas like upper arms, inner and outer thighs, the chin, the back, the abdomen, and the love handles. Coolsculpt are more effective in treating “pinchable” areas because the device used needs to grab the skin to freeze the fat tissues on the area terminating fatty cells, while Trusculpt beneficially treats even flat areas of the body. This allows Trusculpt to treat problems anywhere on the body according to the patient’s desire. Having tight, firm and radiant skin is also a second remarkable benefit a patient may enjoy with Trusculpt. As mentioned above, Truscuplt uses radio frequency heat addressing problems of skin laxity and texture.
Cost effective? Both delivers permanent results, but one can greatly cut the cost of body reshaping as it is only a one-done process.
Technological advancement in the world of aesthetics amplified through the years as great innovations rapidly transpired. With this, one cannot directly assume that each advances are safe, and can provide one’s desired result. Before taking the leap, make sure to consult a trusted, licensed consultant for thorough examination. Your safety should always be of utmost importance.
